Asset Manager in Downtown Boston Office

Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for performing or managing all aspects of loan and REO asset management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Existing Loans and REO:

  • Prepare and implement business plans to lease and improve properties
  • Participate in work out and foreclosure activities
  • Review and act on monthly reporting, maintain a regular dialog with borrower and monitor market dynamics
  • Hire and manage property management, leasing and other professionals necessary to maintain and improve properties
  • Perform quarterly valuation and reporting to Tremont’s capital partner
  • Ensure borrower compliance with critical dates and key provisions in the loan documents
  • Review and approve budgets and leases
  • Conduct property inspections
  • Day to day asset related contact with lawyers, borrowers and Tremont’s capital partners

New Loans:

  • Perform due diligence on each loan:
    • Quickly gather information and become the expert on the market, property and borrower
    • Critically review pro forma assumptions and model the deal
    • Engage, manage and review third party vendors and their work product
    • Critically review all agreements (loan, lease, management, operating), identify and resolve issues
    • Prepare underwriting memo
  • Own and control the lender aspects of the closing process

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of loan documentation, property and market dynamics
  • Detail oriented and persistent in pursuit of required information
  • Advanced financial modeling, written and verbal presentation skills
  • Ability to see the big picture and implement at the detail level
  • Proactive, persuasive and confident regarding lenders or owners position on issues
  • 8 years real estate lending, acquisition and management
  • Undergraduate degree, MBA helpful
  • Skilled in Argus and Excel software
